Realizing that the campaign of Florida Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek is a no-win proposition, former president Bill Clinton has asked Meek to drop out of race and throw his support behind Independent Charlie Christ.This request was made by Clinton in hopes of stalling the bid to the US Senate by Republican Marco Rubio; a Cuban-American candidate with a strong following in the Hispanic community. Meek dropping out is virtually the only chance for a liberal win in the race at this point.
As of this morning, Meek denies plans to exit the race. Another tale of liberal ego over pragmatism? We’ll just have to watch and see

Judge Lets States’ Healthcare Suit Go Forward
U.S. states can proceed with a lawsuit seeking to overturn President Barack Obama’s landmark healthcare reform law, a Florida judge ruled Thursday.
U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson had said at a hearing last month that he would block efforts by the Justice Department to dismiss the lawsuit, led by Florida and 19 other states.
“In this order, I have not attempted to determine whether the line between constitutional and extra-constitutional government has been crossed,” Vinson, of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, wrote in his ruling.
“I am only saying that … the plaintiffs have at least stated a plausible claim that the line has been crossed,” Vinson said.
